Pia Palme – Tehran Trip

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAPia Palme has been invited to be Austrian Artist-in-residence in Tehran during May; her activities included inspiring and organizing two substantial concerts that feature experimental, contemporary, and electronic music brought about through collaboration with Iranian musicians and composers. Concerts took place in a historic residence and garden in Tehran and connected various strands of contemporary music making. Additionally, Pia will be leading workshops on free improvisation for classical, electronic, and traditional instruments, and work on new compositions.

Pia’s travel is made possible through the generosity and ongoing engagement of the Austrian Cultural Forum Tehran and the Austrian embassy, which support cultural exchange between Austria and Iran.
