Pedro Alvarez: Upcoming premieres in Bern, Huddersfield & at the 2012 ISCM World Music Days Ghent

Composer Pedro Alvarez was recently selected to participate in a workshop with the Arditti String Quartet (23-25 Jan) at the Institute of Musical Research, University of London, where his piece Étude Oblique I was rehearsed and recorded.

Pedro has a number of major performances coming up: on March 9th, Ensemble Interface conducted by Scott Voyles will premiere Fragments after Cioran (2010-12) at Dampfzentrale Bern, Switzerland (Internationale Gesellschaft für neue Musik Bern). On March 22nd, visiting artist Jessica Rona will premiere the viola solo written especially for her, Inked in Paths (2012), at St Paul’s Hall in Huddersfield.

On October 31st, his composition Interalia (2010) will be premiered by Het Spectra Ensemble at the ISCM World Music Days 2012 in Ghent, Belgium.
